January 13, 2008 Rev. James Fogle is called to be the long-term pastor at Christ the King. He was installed February 24, 2008.
August 2006 Rev. James Fogle accepts the call to interim ministry at Christ the King.
June 30, 2006 Gary Fitz resigned to pursue graduate school.
May 31, 2006 Rev. Peggy Rose resigned and accepted a call in Iowa.
April 3, 2005 50th Anniversary was held. Pastor Larkin, our mission developer and 1st pastor, gave the sermon for the day.
March 6, 2004 Christ the King held its first music concert with Christian Hip-Hop Artist, David Scherer.
June 1, 2003 Gary Fitz began his ministry as the Director of Youth and Family Ministry.
August 1, 2001 Rev. Peggy Rose began her ministry at Christ the King.
April 1999 Pastor Martzolf took a medical leave of absence and retired in August 2000.
January 1998 Renovation of the church offices and the creation of the King's Gathering Room.
March 25, 1990 Pipe organ was dedicated.
May 14, 1989 New north entrance and elevator was dedicated.
December 31, 1981 Rev. Richard Martzolf was called. He began work on February 7, 1982.
July 31, 1981 Pastor Root retires.
1969 The sanctuary was renovated with carpeting and pews installed. The parking lot was paved.
June 16, 1968 Rev. John Root was called. He began work on September 1, 1968.
December 31, 1967 Pastor Mueller resigned.
November 13, 1966 Rev. August Mueller was called. He began work on February 1, 1967.
June 15, 1966 Pastor Larkin resigns and accepted a call to the Ohio Synod staff.
May 1964 The first "son" of the congregation, Rev. Robert Franklin, was ordained.
June 9, 1963 Dedication of the educational wing.
November 4, 1962 Ground breaking for the educational portion of the building.
January 1, 1961 The congregation became self-supporting.
October 11, 1959 The first services were held in the new building.
May 17,1959 The cornerstone was laid.
March 8, 1959 Ground breaking for the new building at 9300 Farmington Road.
July 17,1955 Rev. Kenneth Larkin was installed.
April 3, 1955 The church charter was signed. There were 146 members and 262 baptized members.
March 13, 1955 The first congregational meeting was held. A church council was elected and it was approved that we became a congregation of the United Lutheran Church in America with the name, Christ the King Evangelical Lutheran Church.
November 21, 1954 The first Sunday School session was held at 9:30 AM followed by the initial worship service of the mission church at 11:00 AM.
November 4, 1954 The first organizational meeting of the mission church was held in the evening at Wilson School.
July 1, 1954 Rev. Kenneth Larkin began mission development work in Livonia.
